What could be better when there is a nip in the air than to grab a shawl, thrown it over your shoulders & feel the warmth almost instantly.  Better yet, when your warmed up, you simply swing it back off your shoulders.  Or you can throw on your legs to keep the chill off your legs.  No matter how you use it, it is sure to give your just enough warmth to give you greater comfort.

This particular shawl was made with 3 yarns, black, gray & heather gray.  I wanted a simple pattern for this day and chose the infamous granny square stitch using the stitch in rows rather than squares.  Double crocheted throughout with a single crochet edging done on the round.   I would say this is a medium to larger size shawl.   It is made from acrylic yarn in its entirety.

I washed & dried the shawl and it came out so unbelievably soft.  I like to use Downy April Fresh Softener in my rinse cycle when it comes to shawls.  It gives them a non-scratchy softness which feels so comforting on the natural skin.

This shawl measures 52" from neck to lower back and has wingspan of 100".

Shawls are good for winter chills, summer air conditioning chills or cooler nights sitting by the fire.    Keep for yourself or give as a gift, either way you won't be disappointed.
