This yarn is called Aaran Fleck by Red Heart Yarns.  It's an acrylic yarn which has flecks of black, rust, steel gray and such, hence its name.  It's a nice neutral to add to your wardrobe as it will go with most things.  It reminds me of the old fisherman sweaters that dared to have color other than white or cream.  It's quite lovely and would be considered unisex.  The hat has been washed and is ready for wear.
