This shawl was made not only to double up on the shoulder area but you can also climb under it to comfortably sit and watch a movie or read book.  I seldom find others  who make the XLG shawls for bigger folks.  I enjoy making them so here is one in purples, lavenders & cream.
 
I added a picot stitch to the entirety of the shawl giving it just a tiny bit of flare.  I used a six row repeat of double crochet with one row of even spacing blank spaces.  I used acrylic yarn for this project, but it washed up and dried nice and soft.  It will only get softer with use and washings.
 
Measuring 61" from back of neck to beyond your bottom with a wingspan of 126"
